I've been working on some sprites for a few years and I have amassed about 170+ so I thought I should start uploading them.

They are Super Mario enemies in the theme of Earthbound - which I intend to incorporate into an Earthbound hack some time. I wanted to know if people would be interested in that. Also, since there are a lot of them, I will have to upload them in chunks of 10~ sheets apiece, so should I organise them by name (Amp, Ant Trooper, etc, then Bullet Bill, Bobomb...) or by game (SMB1, 2, 3, World...). Let me know what you prefer.

It shows that DA can legally steal your art and sell, edit, or use your art without your permission, and that you can't do anything about it. The moment you join the site, you give them permission to do anything they like, because they snuck those clauses into the Terms and Agreements.

If I had anything to lose, I'll leave right now, but I don't, so I'm going to look for other sites and consider leaving (what are your thoughts on tumblr?). If any of you or people or know make professional art and/or are selling it, let them know, because this could be bad for them.

I am now going by the name of 'Pallukun'. I'm not necessarily dropping 'Pokemoniac', but if I had the opportunity, I would likely change my username. It's probably going on all of my future art, but I won't replace the signatures on older pieces.

And while I'm talking about it, I can ramble about where it came from; since last year, I've been watching people on YT like Alpharad play Smash Bros., and I thought it would be cool to have my own name for myself. A lot of professional Smash players, and YTers in general, have names like that - Alpharad, Zero, Styles, Esam, etc. - so if I ever got into Smash more professionally (read: attending friendly locals and/or starting my own YT channel), then I should have my own name. The name 'Pallukun' dates it's origins as far back as 2013, when the 3DS was new and Pokemon XY had recently been released. After following the leaks for a while and deciding I would get le epic ninja froge as my starter, I worked on coming up with names for it. The obvious (and greatly sickening) options of Kermit and such came and went as they do, and after some pondering, I thought of 'Pal'. I used it, and Pal and I became a great team that lasted the whole game, and I still remember some moments with him. That one, old piece of Greninja Night Slashing Mega Gardevoir is one of them. I just taught it Night Slash after many levels of ignoring it, and when I first used it, it was on that Gardevoir, and it got the damn thing down to red HP every time until it ran out of healing items before I finally killed it. Getting back to the story, I liked both Greninja and Pal, so it was inevitable that I made the OC currently on my front page, Pal Kuro. This was during my teen, OC-building phase, where I was making characters and fictional scenarios left right and centre, so of course of it was going to happen. I eventually dropped Pal Kuro, as it was a little boring using him for anything, and drawing him was a pain. Once I reached the aforementioned time of watching other Smash YTers and wanting to make my own name, I thought I could use Pal Kuro, since my #1 main was Greninja. I tweaked it a little and got Pallukun. I like it. My only regret is that it ends in kun, and people are going to think I'm a Japanese anime weaboo or something - but I'm not changing it.

tl;dr a long, circular chain involving my beloved Greninja and a name I gave it coming back and returning as my own name.

also I have been making some sprites and even have a few finished ones, but just never got around to uploading. Honestly, da is getting kinda boring. I still have stuff to look at and read and whatnot, but as far as having my own account goes, it's not really interesting anymore. I'm not leaving, but eh something's definitely changed for the worse

Don't get your hopes up or nothin', cause it probably won't be for long or even very active.

I want to talk about why I've been so inactive since February, and to a greater extent why I'm coming back and with what.

For the past few months, maybe years, I've just hated my art style. I don't consider what I draw any good at all, especially for the effort I put into making it. Drawing is time-consuming, tedious, boring, difficult, and then I get something I don't even like looking at – if you can even see those awful pencil marks. There's perhaps one or two pieces (traditional) in the whole of my gallery I don't despise.

Recently, I found I have both a passion and skill for making sprites. I feel more comfortable making them, and it's a lot more fun, so I spent some time making a bunch over the past half a year. A few small and one fucking gigantic piece (literally, not in quality) are in the works with a couple already finished. I originally planned to hold off on uploading until I had a notable collection, but now someone is expecting fanart I said would be done in a few days – and I thought I should explain what's happening before I just pop back up and surprise all seven of you.

If this becomes a regular thing, then there will be a few changes to my work output;

• Of course it means more sprites than drawings. I still have a couple of Animal Crossing designs I want to put up, but since I haven't seen my town in eons, I don't want to go back see just what horrors have cropped up in my absence.

• I want to keep making jokey comics like before, but that's much harder to do with sprites than pencils. It's likely that will stop completely (not that I was ever going to get around to doing that anyway) and instead I will make basic character sprites.

• The time between each submission will probably be much greater. It takes longer to sprite than to draw, so I won't upload every month like I try to... which is kind of a shame since most people upload weekly and I couldn't even do that. Submissions will occur just whenever I have something to show, without any kind of schedule or pattern.

I don't think there's much else to talk about, though I am reconsidering changing my username, though that takes Core membership and I already have an identity around this name. I might just keep the new one as a personal alias or something; just letting you know in case I change names.

Also now that you remember I exist please don't also remember you were going to unwatch me
